Movement Ecology is now accepting submissions

Movement phenomena are among the most basic characteristics of life, playing a key role in determining evolutionary and ecological processes including major global environmental concerns. Understanding movement of organisms requires merging tools and ideas across different disciplines. Thus, a new BioMed Central journal, Movement Ecology, is borne out of the awareness that an integrative paradigm for organism movement is very much in need to advance cutting-edge research on one of the most important features of life.

Movement Ecology is an open-access interdisciplinary journal publishing novel insights from empirical and theoretical approaches into the ecology of movement of the whole organism – either animals, plants or microorganisms – as the central theme. We welcome manuscripts on any taxa and any movement phenomena (e.g. foraging, dispersal and seasonal migration) addressing important research questions on the patterns, mechanisms, causes and consequences of organismal movement.

Movement Ecology is now accepting submissions. Manuscripts can be submitted via our online submission system. For more information about the journal, contact movementecology@biomedcentral.com or visit the journal website.
