A new open access
journal, PathoGenetics
was launched by BioMed Central today with Stylianos Antonarakis and Andrea Ballabio
as co-Editors-in-Chief. PathoGenetics was created to meet the needs of a
rapidly growing scientific community investigating the mechanisms of genetic
disease. PathoGenetics aims to bring together articles covering the
entire spectrum of molecular and metabolic pathways disturbed in genetic
disease, which are currently split between several specialist journals.
Stylianos believes that “given
its unique characteristics, PathoGenetics is likely to become the ideal
journal for scientists from different backgrounds to publish and read exciting
research on disease pathogenesis”
and Andrea adds “PathoGenetics will give scientists a unique opportunity
to publish exciting research on the molecular mechanisms underlying
the manifestations of disease phenotype”.
The
Editors-in-Chief are supported by an international Editorial Board. Please visit
the journal website to
access the first published articles and to submit a manuscript
of your own. You can also keep up-to-date with any developments in PathoGenetics
by registering for email
alerts.
To mark the launch of PathoGenetics
we will be distributing a special inaugural print issue at the American Society for Human Genetics
annual meeting (ASHG, stand 812; Philadelphia, 11th-15th
November). Please come along and pick up a free copy if you are attending this
meeting.
