Journal of Biology is celebrating its fifth birthday with the publication of an editorial, reviewing the achievements of the journal in
bringing excellence to open access publishing.
As BioMed Central‘s premier
biology journal, Journal of Biology has published a number of exceptional research
articles, each with an accompanying minireview.
The impact and importance of the research
published in Journal of Biology is demonstrated by the tens of
thousands of downloads and hundreds of
citations that many of the research articles have received since publication
(see the editorial for more details).
This milestone also provides
the opportunity to look to the
future. Over the coming months
Journal of Biology will be broadening its horizons beyond the high
calibre research published in the journal to also include minireviews of the
very best biological research from other BioMed Central open access
journals.
If
you have an paper of broad importance and general interest, submit it to Journal of Biology.
