Lisa completed her Undergraduate degree in Zoology at the University of Reading in 2016. After becoming interested in wildlife diseases, public health and entomology, she decided to study her Master’s degree in Tropical diseases at the Liverpool School Of Tropical Medicine. As part of her research project, she travelled to Cameroon to collect data on human and behavioural aspects of gut protozoa transmission.
Lisa currently works as a Research Assistant at arctec, within the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. Her job primarily involves the rearing of mosquitoes, clinical trials and testing of client products. However, arctec have also worked on larger projects surrounding disease transmission and human behaviour, as well as the creation of educational materials for the public both in the UK and abroad. Additionally, Lisa works on arctec’s travel health campaign, Bug Off! to promote safe travel health at public engagement events and through writing blogs for the campaign website.
