António Dr. António Mendes is a Senior Post-Doctoral researcher with a PhD in Parasitology and a vast experience on Plasmodium transmission and malaria vaccination. He is an expert on the biology of infection of Anopheles mosquitoes by malaria parasites and on the repurposing of ivermectin for anti-plasmodial intervention.
Raquel Azevedo is a PhD student working on the transmission stages of Plasmodium parasites, with the aim of identifying novel approaches to malarial control. She has extensive expertise in in vitro culturing of Plasmodium sporogonic forms and in the identification of Plasmodium transmission-blocking compounds.
Miguel Prudêncio is a Group Leader at Instituto de Medicina Molecular, Lisboa, Portugal. He is an expert on liver-stage Plasmodium infection and immunity, whose work focuses on the understanding of the biology of hepatic infection by malaria parasites and on the development of novel antimalarial intervention strategies.
