Marie-Therese Noedl

Marie obtained her PhD in Zoology from the University of Vienna in collaboration with the University of Hawaii, where she studied the evolution and development of the cephalopod arm crown. From there she was recruited to the Italian Institute of Technology in Genova, Italy to examine the development and regeneration of the octopus muscular arm. Her new-found interest in regenerative biology eventually drew her back to the US, where she studied tendon regeneration in zebrafish at the Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School in Boston. Marie joined the BMC series as a Locum Associate Editor in 2022. She is based in London.
