Professor Friday Okonofua is a Professor of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, and reproductive health at the University of Benin in Nigeria. He is the pioneer Vice-Chancellor at the University of Medical Sciences, Ondo in Nigeria. He founded the Women’s Health and Action Research Centre in 1993. He is currently the Center Leader of the World Bank African Center of Excellence in Reproductive Health Innovation (CERHI) at the University of Benin in Nigeria. He is a strong advocate for women’s health and gender equality.
