Christina Victor

Christina is a Professor of Gerontology and Public Health and Vice Dean (Research) at the College of Health and Life Sciences as well as the Ageing Studies Theme Leader at the Institute of Environment, Health and Societies at Brunel University London. Christina’s research interests focus upon health and health inequalities in later life; the evaluation of services for older people; exercise and activity in later life and the experiences of old age and later life among minority communities and people with intellectual disabilities. She has an international reputation for her research in the field of loneliness and isolation and is activity engaged with policy makers, practitioners and third sector organizations working in this field. She is a Fellow of the Faculty of Public Health, an Academician of the Academy of Social Sciences and a Fellow of the Gerontological Society of America.In 2017 Christina was awarded the Lifetime Achievement award of the British Society of Gerontology and in 2019 her work on loneliness featured in the 100+ ways universities are saving lives and keeping us healthy
