Sarah Ziegenhorn

Sarah Ziegenhorn is a medical student at the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine. She is also a co-founder and Executive Director of the Iowa Harm Reduction Coalition, a community-based organization that works with people who inject drugs and conducts advocacy, education, and outreach. Sarah holds a B.A. in Geography and Community Health from Macalester College and was previously a Research Associate at the Institute of Medicine in Washington, D.C. Her research interests include substance use during pregnancy, the intersection of reproductive health and criminal justice, hepatitis C treatment access, and the impacts of racism on health care delivery and outcomes.
