Claudia Zampaloni and colleagues have identified a new class of antibiotic chemicals – tethered macrocyclic peptides (MCP) that have proven effective against Carbapenem-resistant Acinetobacter baumannii – a major global pathogen for which, hitherto, there had been limited treatment options.
