Dr Fiona Braka

Dr Fiona Braka is Public Health professional with vast experience working in the field of vaccines. Her professional career in polio eradication and broader immunization spans over the past fifteen years across Uganda, Ethiopia and Nigeria, and support to other countries in the African Region.

Dr Braka currently leads the immunization team at WHO Nigeria and works closely with the Government of Nigeria and partners to ensure wild poliovirus transmission is interrupted, high quality surveillance achieved and the routine immunization programme strengthened, in addition to other accelerated disease control targets.

She is a strong advocate for vaccines and believes we all have a shared responsibility to safeguard the current and future generations by ensuring all children, wherever they are, have a shot at life for a bright and productive future.
