Silvio Pitlik & Omry Koren

Dr. Silvio Daniel Pitlik obtained his MD qualification from the University of Buenos Aires at the age of 22. He has published more than 200 articles in leading medical journals, and has covered numerous roles specializing in infectious disease. He is currently Infectious Diseases consultant in four Israeli hospitals

Dr. Omry Koren is Assistant Professor at the new Faculty of Medicine at Bar-Ilan University, and received the prestigious Marie Curie Career Integration Grant and The Alon Fellowship for outstanding young scientists (by the Council of higher education). Omry continues to study the human microbiome and specifically the female microbiome. His lab is very interested in the interplay between the endocrine system and the microbiota. He is the Guest Editor for the article collection ‘Clinical insights into the human microbiome’ published in BMC Medicine.
