Ross Fitzgerald is Professor of Molecular Bacteriology at The Roslin Institute, University of Edinburgh. His research group is interested in how new pathogenic clones of bacteria emerge and adapt to different niches.
A major focus is the evolution and pathogenesis of staphylococci from human and animal hosts.
