Catriona Harkins is Dermatologist and Clinical Researcher at the University of Dundee interested in the role microbes play in the aetiology of skin disease, and the impact antibiotics have on opportunistic pathogens such as Staphylococcus aureus which inhabit the skin. She conducted this study during her PhD with Matthew Holden at the University of St Andrews.
Matthew Holden is a molecular microbiologist who stumbled into genomics at an early age and hasn’t looked back since. His research interests include the evolution of antibiotic resistance and the epidemiology of nosocomial infections, and his favourite bacterium is Staphylococcus aureus.
