I am a Research Assistant and recently turned Postdoctoral Research at the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine. I have been an in vitro, drug discovery screener for the Anti-Wolbachia consortium for over 8 years. Our work is focused on identifying novel drugs to treat the filarial diseases, lymphatic filariasis and onchocerciasis, which are major cause of morbidity world wide. We aim to achieve this by identifying and developing new antibiotics which target the bacterial endosymbiont within the nematodes which cause these diseases.
