Constant G.N. Gbalégba is a, PhD Candidate in Vector Biology with a focus on Medical entomology at Nangui Abrogoua University, Abidjan (Côte d’Ivoire) and associate researcher at Centre Suisse de Recherches Scientifiques in Côte d’Ivoire. His dissertation pertaining to vectors borne diseases is focused on factors influencing transmission of malaria and schistosomiasis in environment of climate variation and climate change. He used an interdisciplinary approach in the field (entomology, malacology, parasitology and household surveys) coupled to conventional laboratory procedures to better understand host-parasite interactions with climate seasonality and implications for the occurrence of malaria and schistosomiasis in urban settings of northern Côte d’Ivoire and southern Mauritania.
