Francesco Castelli, MD, FRCP (London), FFTM RCPS (Glasgow), FRCP (Edinburgh), FISTM, FESCMID is Professor of Infectious Diseases and Head of the University Division of Infectious and Tropical Medicine at the University of Brescia (Italy) and ASST Spedali Civili of Brescia (Italy). Professor Castelli presently acts as Deputy Rector of the University of Brescia and the Chair of the Department of Medicine of the ASST Spedali Civili of Brescia. He is the holder of the UNESCO Chair “Training and empowering human resources for health development in resource-limited countries”. He is also a member of the Scientific and Technical Committee for HIV/AIDS, Italian Ministry of Health.
His main fields of scientific interest are infectious and tropical diseases, migration medicine and imported infections, global health and chronic viral infections in high- and low-income countries.
Eugenia Quiros Roldan received the Medical Doctor degree and the Doctorate degree in 1987 and 1990 respectively in Granada, Spain. She became an Infectious Diseases Specialist medical doctor in 2001 at the University of Brescia and Spedali Civili general hospital of Brescia, Italy, where she currently works. Since 2005 she has been a researcher and Associate Professor of Infectious Diseases at the University of Brescia. Her main research topics are HIV infection and co-infections, and antiretroviral therapy.
