James J. Annesi, PhD, is director of wellness advancement at the YMCA of Metro Atlanta and professor of health promotion at Kennesaw State University. His research and treatment development focuses on exercise adherence, weight management, and the effects of physical activity on mental health, self-image, and other quality-of-life factors across age ranges. He is an elected fellow of the American Psychological Association, the American Academy of Health Behavior, and The Obesity Society.
