Steve Hanney is Emeritus Prof at the Health Economics Research Group, Brunel University London. In the 1990s he worked with Prof Martin Buxton to develop and apply the Payback Framework for assessing health research impacts. Since 2001 his work from HERG has at various time involved collaboration with the World Health Organisation, including being co-editor of the BMC WHO-founded journal Health Research Policy and Systems from 2006-17.
