Fibrogenesis & Tissue Repair: a new journal launches with BioMed Central

With nearly 45% of all deaths in the developed
world caused by chronic inflammatory and fibrogenic disorders the launch of Fibrogenesis & Tissue Repair
couldn’t be more significant; Fibrogenesis & Tissue Repair is the
first journal dedicated solely to the understanding, diagnosis and treatment of
fibroproliferative disorders. Massimo Pinzani (Editor-in-Chief), an
internationally renowned expert in the field of liver fibrosis, explains that
the aim of Fibrogenesis & Tissue Repair is to “fill the gap in communication which exists
between scientists working on fibrogenesis and tissue repair in different
disciplines, allowing them to exchange ideas and to work on common targets”.
Professor Pinzani is supported by four Section Editors who are specialists in the
other main subject areas covered by the journal: Cory Hogaboam (pulmonary
disease); Michael
Zeisberg (renal disease); Stefanie
Dimmeler (cardiovascular disease); David Abraham (rheumatology and connective
tissue disease), and by an
international Editorial Board

To mark the launch of
Fibrogenesis & Tissue Repair we will be distributing a special inaugural
print issue at
the United
European Gastroenterology Week
(UEGW, stand 75; Vienna, 18th-24th October)
and the American
College of Rheumatology
annual meeting (ACR, stand 1221; San Francisco
24th-29th October). Please do come along and pick up a copy if you are
attending either of these meetings.
