We are pleased to announce that Dr M Salih Deveci, from the University of Pennsylvania Medical Center, has been awarded the Best of Cytojournal 2006 award for the article ‘Fine-needle aspiration of follicular lesions of the thyroid. Diagnosis and follow-Up’. The award was given to Dr Deveci and his co-authors after a panel selected their article as the best article published in Cytojournal in 2006.

The award is named the Pathikonda Award, and is supported by a generous gift from Pathikonda family. Vinod Shoidham, Editor-in-Chief of Cytojournal, presented the award to Dr Deveci at the USCAP meeting, held in San Diego. 

Cytojournal launched in July 2004 and this year’s award is the second round of the awards. Cytojournal aims to publish research on all aspects of diagnostic cytopathology, including complementary topics such as molecular cytopathology. For further information please see the journal website.
