Suggestions in improving the transition from pediatric to adult care in patients with type 1 diabetes

The period when teens with type 1 diabetes transition from pediatric to adult care is critical, which can result in these adolescents being at heightened risk for poor glycemic control in addition to the other challenges young adulthood brings. A recently published review in Clinical Diabetes and Endocrinology explores these challenges and offers new recommendations on how patients and endocrinologists can navigate this difficult process.
