Genome Biology Plant Genomics special issue: call for papers

1

logoGenome Biology would like to announce that we are now accepting Research, Method and Software manuscript submissions to be considered for publication in a special issue on plant genomics, which is planned for early summer 2013.

Following on from our highly successful special issue on epigenomics in 2012, we are turning our attention to plant genomics for a special issue in 2013. High-throughput technologies have traditionally been more successful in elucidating the regulation of animal genomes rather than plants. However, recent research has been making significant inroads into the many complexities of regulation within plant genomes. We believe that a special issue on this topic in 2013 will, therefore, make a timely contribution to the genomics field.

We will consider Research, Method and Software manuscripts describing insights into, or developing methods for studying, all aspects of plant genomics, including genome sequencing and assembly, crop breeding, biofuel production, plant responses to pathogens, hormone regulation, genome evolution, non-model organisms, and non-coding RNAs. Manuscripts will be welcome irrespective of the organism(s) or cell type(s) studied. A series of commissioned, topical reviews and opinions, written by leaders in the field, will also be published in the special issue.

The deadline for submissions is 28th February 2013. To submit your manuscript, please use our online submission system and indicate in your covering letter that you would like the article to be considered for the plant genomics special issue.

If you would like to enquire about the suitability of a study for consideration, please email a presubmission enquiry to editorial@genomebiology.com.
Genome Biology is published by the Open Access publisher BioMed Central. In line with our open access policy, all original research articles will be distributed free of charge over the web. For further information about the journal, please go to https://genomebiology.com/ , or for enquires about the special issue please contact editorial@genomebiology.com .

Update: We are pleased to announce that Mario Caccamo, head of Bioinformatics at The Genome Analysis Centre in Norwich, will be acting as a Guest Editor for the Plant Genomics Special Issue

Further update: We are pleased to announce that Erich Grotewold at The University of Ohio will also be acting as a Guest Editor for the Plant Genomics Special Issue.
