Further adventures on the road…

on the roadOur busy summer on the road continues, with further globetrotting to meet authors and collaborators, get the message about GigaScience out, and hopefully at the end of it get some papers. This week Laurie and Scott will be at the Datacite meeting in Berkeley, meeting the people helping us to produce our data-DOIs, learning about where data-citation is going, and also doing a short presentation. As always check our twitter  and blog page for updates and slides, and follow the hashtag #datacite.

Following that, from the 28th August to 1st September, Alexandra will be at the ICSB (International Conference on Systems Biology) in Heidelberg/Mannheim, meeting Systems Biologists, modellers and users of “big-data”. That meeting is also on twitter and can be followed on #ICSB2011HD.

Science Online London is next on the schedule (2nd-3rd September), and Scott is looking forward to the Microattribution and “Incentives – ‘What’s in it for us?'” sessions. This will be typically “online”, with lots of tweeting (#solo11) and video streams for many of the sessions, so those not attending in person should stay tuned.

Pending DVTs, the final leg of this trip will be the HUPO meeting in Geneva, Alexandra and Scott meeting the Proteomics community, and Scott talking at the Data Repository session on the 6th September. Watch out again for slides and updates before the long journey back to Shenzhen, and the inevitable jetlag.
