BMC Surgery proves to be a popular source of material for Medscape’s Continuing Medical Education Program

BMC SurgeryThe advantages of
open access publishing for educational purposes are demonstrated by the success
of BMC Surgery as a source of
articles for Medscape’s free online Continuing Medical Education
(CME) material.

Four articles from
the journal have already been featured by Medscape for CME. Readers of BMC Surgery articles can now build on
their CME activities via Medscape’s
ACCME-accredited CME material.  BMC Surgery is an excellent choice for
researchers who want their clinically relevant research to reach practicing
clinicians,
but this open access journal has also proven to be an exceptionally good source of educational material.

BMC
Psychiatry
and BMC Family Practice
also feature in Medscape’s
CME activities
.  We aim to expand
our relationship with Medscape further to include clinically relevant articles
from a broad
range of BioMed
Central Journals. BMC Musculoskeletal
Disorders
, BMC Neurology,
BMC Cardiovascular
Disorders
and BMC Infectious Diseases  will be sources of CME from the medical BMC series journals in the
coming months with plans to include many more BioMed Central journals in the
future.
