Emeritus Professor Richard Whittington, University of Sydney, has led research into veterinary infectious diseases caused by bacteria and viruses for many years. He uses the tools of epidemiology and laboratory sciences to explain and better understand diseases, and to develop and validate new diagnostic tests and vaccines to control them, in both developed and developing countries.
