Mark Temple

Mark Temple is a Senior Lecturer in Molecular Biology in the School of Science at Western Sydney University. His current research explores the sonification of biological sequence information and he has created some interesting musical representations of science data based on his knowledge of biological function and his thinking about music. He was a professional musician before his academic life and he has again engaged with musicians to create music inspired by science concepts and his sonification work. The intersection of science and music provides him the unexpected opportunity to engage with the wider community and share ideas about the coronavirus genome, DNA structure and function and generative music.
