Professor James Buchan

Professor James Buchan (Queen Margaret University) has  twenty five years experience of policy research on health sector human resources, specializing in national level strategy, policy and planning, reward strategy; workforce planning;  and  labour market analysis.  Recent clients include WHO, OECD, and the World Bank.

His background includes periods as a senior HR manager, NHS Scotland;  senior policy analyst at the Royal College of  Nursing, (RCN), UK;  HRH specialist at the World Health Organisation; and a special adviser to  Health Workforce Australia.

He is an Associate Editor for Human Resources for Health.
